Get into the Zone
Personally I like to follow people that have the same interest as I do. If it look like your account is 99% links and 1% conversation I won’t even bother following you. If you want to follow me that’s great but I’m trying to reach a target audience with my tweets and I don’t have the time to sort through all your random links about erectile disfunction or how I too can lose 40 lbs by the end of the week.
When I follow someone back I usually take the time to check out their profile to see if they are a spammer or not. If they look like they might have something to interesting to say then I click on that little link and become a follower.
Maybe that sounds harsh but that’s just me…keep in mind I’m got a few spammers in there that slip through the cracks but most of the people I follow are followed for a specific reason.
